subject of found poetry

found poetry
subject: anxiety attacks/panic disorders [root, causes, instances]

for my found poetry genre, my plan is to combine articles, medicine labels/warnings, documentation, self-help.. anything pertaining to panic attacks.

a look panic disorders
[three different types]

generalized anxiety disorder: characterised by long-lasting anxiety that is not focused on any particular object or situation; unspecific or free-floating; afraid of something but are unable to articulate the specific fear; fret that they constantly have a hard time controlling their worries; difficult to cope with normal daily activities

post-traumatic stress disorder: PTSD - results from traumatic experience that can result from an extreme situation such as being involved in warfare, rape, hostage situations or involvement in a serious accident; can result from long term exposure to a severe stressor; may experience flashbacks, avoidant behaviour and other symptoms

social anxiety disorder: experience intense fear of being negatively evaluated by others or of being publicly embarrassed because of impulsive acts; fear of public scrutiny and potential humiliation becomes so pervasive that normal life can become impossible

triggers and causes
what can cause an anxiety/panic attack?

[long-term, predisposing causes]
-panic disorders can run in families - inheritance genes play a strong roll in determining who will get it; environmental factors such as an overly cautious view of the world expressed by parents and cumulative stress over time

[biological causes]
-generalised anxiety, ocd, ptsd, hypoglycemia, etc

[short-term triggering causes]
-significant personal loss, stimulants such as caffeine or nicotine - or drugs, life transitions, significant life change

[situationally bound panic attacks]
-associating certain situations with panic attacks, due to experiencing one in that particular situation, can create a cognitive predisposition to having panic attacks in certain situations - see ptsd
